From time to time I like to share with my readers and clients items that I run across that they might find interesting. As many who have worked with me know, I love the WordFence security plugin for WordPress.
I recently ran across the “Cyber Security Survival Guide” on the WordFence blog and thought it would be something interesting to share with you.
WordFence says that they have written their guide to be as readable as possible and that it is designed to be shared with less technical people so that they can understand it easily.
In their guide they talk about:
-
How data is stolen.
-
Prioritizing what we need to protect as individuals.
-
Preventing real world targeting via cyber.
-
Protecting your financial means.
-
Protecting sensitive data about yourself.
-
Protecting your ability to earn an income and your reputation.
They also offer additional tips and techniques such as how to avoid social engineering, phishing, using a good password manager, creating and managing your data, and making proper and complete backups to protect yourself against “ransomware.”
It’s an article worth reading. And, they say it so much better than I could. So, grab a cup of coffee and head on over to their website to their website.
