WordPress Maintenance

WordPress Maintenance and Support for Worry-Free Websites

A stagnant site that is never monitored, updated or touched does no one any good, and can even be a security risk. All software is vulnerable. Even the software that powers your website.

What’s Your Time Worth?

Sure, you can do updates yourself, but do you have time and are you able to repair things on your own, if an update goes wrong (and it does sometimes). Let a professional handle the heavy lifting for you and spend your time servicing your customers and getting great content onto your blog!

Security Protection From Hackers

More and more websites are getting hacked and attacked, even big players like Microsoft, Twitter, Facebook, Target, and most recently the Internal Revenue Service. And, millions of small businesses are affected every day too. It’s the nature of the world we live in now, and unfortunately websites are an easy target.

Regular Software Updates

Running a WordPress site without taking care of updating things like the core software, themes and plugins, leaves your site vulnerable to security risks, hackers, components that don’t play well together and sometimes can break your site when you update it yourself, which can bring your  website to a screeching halt in no time flat!

Secure Offsite Backups

Keeping your site up to date, backed up and secure can be time consuming and tedious. It takes precious time away from running your business and building relationships with your customers, staff and partners. Our plans include both daily and weekly backups (depending on the level of plan you choose) and all backups are stored in the cloud, for security.

WordPress Monthly Maintenance Plans & Support

These WordPress maintenance plans are available to all WordPress websites, whether we are hosting your website or someone else is. We regularly work with WordPress sites that are hosted with other providers. And, we do not have to have built your site originally to supply monthly maintenance services – and piece of mind – on it either. You are never locked into a contract and can cancel your maintenance plan at any time.*

1 These updates are important for the security of your site. Old and outdated software, plugins, and themes are the most common ways for hackers to gain access to websites.

2 Upon customer request. You must submit a work order for any changes you wish to have completed during the month. If your changes exceed your allotted time additional charges will apply. Unused time does not roll over from month to month.

3 This discount applies to any changes or work requested on your website that exceeds the allotted time in your package, if such time is included. This discount does not apply to site redesigns, changes in major functionality that require specific programming, or other graphic design work.

WordPress Maintenance Plans & Support + Website Hosting

Get a maintenance plan and our professional hosting package all in one combo for your website.

Please note, if you are a client and you choose the do-it-yourself route for maintenance and updates, should your site have a security breach, an update cause conflicts with other components in your site and bring it down, or any other issue occurs, there will be charges involved for us to repair and restore your site. If you are on a monthly maintenance plan with us, and an update that we initiate “breaks” your site for some reason (and it does happen from time to time), there are no additional charges to restore the site for you.
*When you cancel your monthly billing, your service will remain in effect until your next scheduled monthly billing date, then will be cancelled and not renewed again. Please note, some features included in the plans above may not be included, if your current website hosting platform does not allow them for some reason. For instance, some WordPress website hosting services do not allow the use of the WordFence plugin, because it duplicates features that are already built into your hosting platform and is unnecessary.

Additional Plan Information

All consulting sessions are conducted by email, telephone or Skype. In person consultations (local clients only) are additional and at a rate of $200/hour.

Website maintenance tasks are available in packages that include time for them as a courtesy to you to help you with updates and changes to your website, so you don’t have to worry with them.

It is up to you to provide a “task list” of things you want done on your site each month, for us to work from. Once we are notified that you want a change made to your site, it will go into our work queue and be handled as quickly as possible.

This service is meant for simple tasks that cover things like:

  • Adding customer/client testimonials to your site.
  • Adding new staff to your profile or about us sections.
  • Setting up a plugin to increase or improve performance or results for your business.
  • Create a simple form for your website (as long as it is not long and complicated).
  • Fixing any plugin conflicts you may be experiencing on your site.
  • Fixing any CSS problems that will improve the look and feel of your site.
  • Adding, updating or deleting any text on your website (new text provided by you).
  • Adding, updating, resizing, cropping or deleting pictures on your website (provided by you).
  • Fix any dead links you find on your site.
  • Update copyright dates in footer.
  • Adding, updating or deleting videos on your website (provided by you).
  • Entering and formatting your provided blog posting, including using royalty free stock photography
  • to enhance it.
  • Adding new e-commerce products or updating existing ones (if on a WooCommerce maintenance plan).
  • Work with you hosting company on your behalf, if needed, to solve hosting problems (will count against your monthly time).
  • Answer technical, SEO or other website related questions (will count against your monthly time).
  • Or, any other small task that you need to have done throughout the month.

These tasks do not cover advanced or complex tasks such as a setting up a complete online shopping cart system, installing a booking system, calendar or membership section, custom PHP programming, developing a full site, creating a landing page for advertising, creating a new page on your site that is different from your existing site pages (i.e. anything that involves design and development work), creating a complex form that will take more than an hour to do, etc.

Tasks that go over the amount of time allotted per month will be billed at our regular standard rate (you will be notified before completing them, if that is the case).

There is no contract for month-to-month plans, and you can cancel at any time and will not be re-billed when the current month is up.

Plans that are paid annually can be canceled at any time, and will not be renewed at the end of the yearly term. Your services will continue until the paid term expires.

If you cancel a plan, and it includes website hosting, you will revert back to the Professional Hosting Package rate for monthly or yearly billing.

What We Need

If we originally created your site, access is no problem. However, for maintenance on WordPress sites that we did not create we require the following information, in order to perform our services:
Hosting Info
  • cPanel address
  • cPanel user name
  • cPanel password
  • FTP server name
  • FTP user name
  • FTP password
WordPress Info
  • Administrative user name
  • Administrative password

Batching Jobs

There is a 1/2 hour minimum per session, so it’s best to submit changes and updates in batches, rather than one at a time. All time will be entered into your account and any work performed on your website, at your request, will be applied against the amount of time remaining in your account.

Monthly Statements

Monthly statements will be provided for your review. We will notify you when your time is running low, at which time you may opt to purchase another block of time. If we are in the middle of completing requested tasks at the time your account is depleted you will be contacted and given the option to purchase another block of time, or be billed for any overages on the job at our standard hourly rate. Unused time expires one year after the date of block purchase and is non-refundable.
